I learned my first real lesson about money in 1983, when I was about 5 years old. Both of my parents were working a lot at the time. My dad as a machinist that worked the graveyard shift and my mom worked during the day as a cashier at Safeway. We lived on the "other side of the tracks" in Sunnyvale and didn't have a lot of money. One day, my mom took us to Toy's R Us and I can still vividly recall seeing a toy behind the glass that I really wanted. It was a Transformer that cost $13. My mom told me that if I wanted it, I'd have to pay for it myself. I ended up doing extra chores around the house until I had saved enough to make my purchase. The moral lesson I learned was that hard work pays off. The money lesson I learned was that earning and saving money is hard work! My Transformer sits on my desk today.
My approach to financial planning starts with learning about the things that are most important to you. What are your goals, aspirations, and personal objectives? My goal is to help bring clarity to these things and with my professional experience, insight into how you can achieve them.

My wife, Ashley, and I have been together for 15 years and married for 8. The old saying, "behind every successful man is a great woman," definitely rings true with us. I would not be where I am without her by my side. We have a son, Fox, who's 18 months old and a whirlwind of energy. On the weekends and evenings, there's a good chance of running into us on one of our long walks through the Seascape neighborhood or the Hidden Beach playground with Fox and our Boston Terrier, Pepper. I've been mountain biking for most of my life so you might find me in Nisene Marks too, enjoying the huge playground we're lucky to have at our doorstep.
